Indonesia's 2018 economy is expected to grow higher and evenly, amid democratic party events in various regions. Efforts to realize this expectation are certainly not easy and require the formulation of an optimal fiscal policy strategy. Errors in policy formulation can have fatal implications, ranging from budget cuts, increased debt, to the economic meltdown. In contrast, a budgetary strategy that focuses on maintaining credibility, discipline and fiscal sustainability will make it possible to achieve longer-term goals that are better, not just short-term political interests. At this point, the urgency of INDEF as an independent research institute delivered a number of critical notes on the Draft State Budget of 2018 which is planned to be decided by parliament.
